The Picture Wars, Science Fiction And Fantasy Rules

The Picture Wars

You get two full sets of rules with The Picture Wars, one for science fiction and the other for fantasy. I wanted a large scale wargame that I could play for as little cost as possible and without taking up too much room. If you really want to use miniatures with them, then I guess you can play with 15mm. But as I wanted something cost effective, I had a look on Google images and discovered that I could get pictures of nearly all my favourite figures. So, print off my chosen pictures on a piece of card and Bob's your uncle, I'm ready to fight battles with tens of thousands of points worth of armies.

I tend to go for a picture of two figures to represent a unit of ten to twenty troops, while heroes and vehicles are single pictures. But feel free to go wild.

With the scifi rules, you also get separate PDF's of tables and cards for:

Orders – These are tasks that you have to complete and give you points for each one you carry out.

Events – Random things that happen during the course of a game.

Psychic Powers – Nothing is guaranteed in war and psychics are no exception to this. Just because you want them to do something, it doesn't necessarily follow that they will.

Hazards – Do you really want your troops to march through that slime?

Vehicle Damage – Your shot hits the target and this table tells you what the result is.

There is also a PDF for troop statistics, weapons, equipment, etc.

With the fantasy rules set, you get the rules and separate PDF's of tables and cards for:

Orders – Tasks that you have to complete because they give you points that count towards winning the game.

Events – Random things that happen each turn.

Hazards – Do you really want your troops to march through that slime?

There is a PDF of magic cards and a separate one for troop statistics, weapons, equipment, etc.

But even though you get all of this fabulous information, the price remains the same. Hey! That would make a great title for a record! (For you youngsters, that's a reference to The Song Remains The Same by Led Zeppelin)

The Picture Wars is available from my shop www.1poundrules.website  for £1.
